Every fault below comes from real call-outs across Durban and surrounding areas. Some have a quick check you can try yourself before booking anyone — where that's true, we say so. When a visit is needed, the diagnosis is done with a signal meter, quoted before work starts, and covered by our 12-month workmanship warranty. New to this part? Start with the monitor component guide.
1. No display output
What you'll see: The recorder runs (app works, lights on) but the screen reports no signal.
Why it happens: Output resolution above the display's capability, wrong input selected, or a failed cable or port.
How we fix it: We recover the output setting through the app or fallback port, then set a resolution every display on site supports — and label the input so it survives the next remote-control accident.
2. Wrong or shifted resolution
What you'll see: The picture is cropped, stretched, fuzzy, or the menu bar sits off-screen.
Why it happens: Recorder output and panel native resolution mismatched, or overscan enabled on a TV input.
How we fix it: Match the output to the panel's native resolution and set the TV input to a PC/just-scan mode — small settings, dramatic difference in readability of plates and faces.
3. HDMI or VGA port fault
What you'll see: Signal drops when the cable moves; snow, sparkles or intermittent blanking.
Why it happens: A worn port, a failing cable, or corrosion in a humid environment.
How we fix it: We test with known-good cables, re-seat or replace the failed port where economic, and secure cabling so the connection is never load-bearing.
Symptom doesn't match any of these?
Faults overlap — a "monitor problem" is sometimes another link in the chain wearing a disguise. Describe what your system is doing on 069 423 8290 (or WhatsApp a photo of the error screen) and we'll tell you which component it actually sounds like, free, before anything is booked.
